Guy Hammond

Born in 1968, Guy has lived in Zimbabwe his whole life Educated at Peterhouse Boy's School and the University of Pietermaritzburg, Guy later went on to purchase his own 500 hectare Tobacco Farm which was expropriated in 2002.

Shortly after leaving the farm Guy turned his hand to Art and apprenticed under Wildlife Art guru Craig Bone for 18 months in 2003-4 Guy later journeyed to Kenya where he understudied the late Simon Combes, known in art circles as 'The King of Cats'

Guy now travels regionally and internationally to gather fresh subject matter for his paintings, and to exhibit his work,

Guy has developed his own style over the years and now lives in Kariba, Zimbabwe. with his wife Kiara and their young family Kariba is a constant source of live material and Guy is involved with various local conservation exercises in the Zambezi Valley and throughout Zimbabwe

Tashinga Black Rhino Projects in conjunction with Sir Ranulph Fiennes ALERT (African Lion Environmental Research Trust) with Sir Ranulph Fiennes Friends of Mana Pools/Zambezi Society Zimbabwe Old Age Pensioners Fund Rhodesian War Injuries Fund Flame Lily Trust Various Schools throughout Zimbabwe Guy has exhibited his work successfully in USA (2004 - 2007). Dubai. South Africa (Durban and Johannesburg), Harare, and has an upcoming exhibition in the United Kingdom (Jersey. Channel Islands) in August 2008
Paint the Wild Art Safaris
Guy conducts Art Safaris in conjunction with Natureways which is the oldest canoe safari company in the Zambezi Valley The experience of painting 'en plein air' with elephants strolling past and hippos grunting just a few meters from your outdoor studio, with the Zambezi escarpment as a backdrop is a unique experience that is unbeatable in the art world
